Secure document handoff
A handoff is a controlled delivery window — not a shared drive. CarryDocs is built for the moment you need someone to open files, then have the package disappear.
What a secure handoff actually means
Email and cloud folders leave durable copies across servers, backups, and devices. A secure handoff means one package, one window, and a clear end: when the timer ends, the link stops and stored files are removed.
CarryDocs calls that package a Carry. You upload, set expiry (and optional Protocol Pack controls), then share a link or QR. Recipients open in the browser. There is no organizational browsing vault.
When email is the wrong tool
Email is excellent for conversation. It is a poor container for privileged files you do not want living forever in inboxes. If the job is “deliver once, control the clock, then let it vanish,” use a handoff protocol instead of an attachment.

How to run a CarryDocs handoff
- Sign in and open Send files.
- Upload the documents (PDF, Office, images, text, CSV).
- Set the expiry window. Free sends last two hours; Protocol Pack unlocks longer windows.
- Optionally add PIN or view-only (Protocol Pack).
- Share the link or QR. When time is up — or policy shreds the link — the send is gone.
Controls that matter
Hard expiry — every link has a timer. Optional PIN — three wrong guesses can delete the link immediately. View-only — discourage casual download of the package (Pack).
CarryDocs supplies handoff mechanics with TLS in transit. You still own regulatory and contractual policy — we are not a compliance certification.
